The Times Daily Crosswords

The Times has a daily cryptic crossword (Monday to Saturday), with the Saturday puzzles being prize crosswords.

On Saturdays there is also a Prize Jumbo cryptic, similar in style to the daily puzzle but using a 23x23 grid.

The Times Quick Cryptic

Introduced in March 2014, the Times Quick Cryptic puzzle appears five times a week, from Monday to Friday. The aim is to introduce new people to cryptic crosswords, and to encourage those solvers who would like to have a go at the main puzzle but feel daunted by it.

Unlike the setters of the main crossword, the setters of the Quick Cryptic are identified by pseudonyms. The current team of setters includes:

Breadman (Mike Warburton)

Felix (Richard Rogan)

Flamande (David Crossland)

Grumpy (Michael Curl)

Hawthorn (David Parfitt)

Hurley (Niall MacSweeney)

Izetti (Don Manley)
