Colin INMAN

Colin Inman has been crossword editor of the Financial Times since 1979, only the second since the paper first published a crossword in 1966.

Born in 1938, he worked as a journalist on the FT's news desks from 1970 until he retired from the 'day job' in 1996. He took the crossword editorship into retirement with him.

Margaret IRVINE

As Nutmeg, Margaret Irvine is a setter of crosswords for The Guardian. She also sets crosswords for The Times and for the Church Times.

She has been setting crosswords seriously since 2005, having taken early retirement from a computing post at Manchester University. Her interests include classical music and genealogy.
