Matt Gaffney

Matt Gaffney, who lives in Staunton, Virginia, has been a professional crossword puzzle writer for the past 15 years.

His puzzles have appeared in Billboard, the Chicago Tribune, the Daily Beast, Dell Champion Crossword Puzzles, GAMES magazine, the Los Angeles Times, New York Magazine, the New York Times, Newsday, the Onion, Slate, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, and Wine Spectator.

Matt has written ten books of crossword puzzles, four books of variety puzzles, and the 2006 narrative book Gridlock: Crossword Puzzles and the Mad Geniuses Who Create Them. He is also the author of the Complete Idiot's Guide to Crossword Puzzles & Word Games.

Bonnie L. Gentry is a crossword constructor who has had puzzles published in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times (three of them being collaborations with Vic Fleming), etc.

She is co-editor, with Mel Rosen and Vic Fleming, of books in the Random House Casual Crosswords series.

Bonnie lives in Phoenix, Arizona. In her day job she is a financial planner.

Peter GORDON

Peter Gordon

Peter Gordon is a crossword constructor and editor. He is an editor for Sterling Publishing and was formerly (2002-2008) crossword editor for the New York Sun. He was also formerly (1988-1990, 1991-1996) an editor for GAMES magazine.

He is currently the editor of Fireball Crosswords, a weekly supertough puzzle that's the first independent pay-to-play online crossword.

He also writes a weekly current events crossword for The Week, and edits the Post Puzzler, a weekly themeless puzzle in the Washington Post.

The 50+ books written and edited by Gordon have combined sales of more than a million copies.

Gordon was a member of the winning U.S. teams at the 1990 International Crossword Marathon in Bjelovar, Yugoslavia, and at the 1999 World Puzzle Championship in Budapest, Hungary.

Elizabeth C GORSKI

Elizabeth C. Gorski

Modern Art Notes describes Elizabeth C. Gorski as a constructor "known for her entertaining, creative holy cow! grids."

She is the most-published Sunday puzzle constructor during the editorship of Will Shortz at The New York Times. A frequent contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Ms. Gorski is also a four-time winner of Simon & Schuster’s Margaret Award.

She is editor of Crossword Nation, a weekly subscription puzzle for iPad and smart device users.

Her film credits include an appearance in Wordplay, Patrick Creadon’s 2006 documentary. The film spotlighted her NYT crossword, "High Definition," as one of "Five Unforgettable Puzzles." 20th Century Fox commissioned her work for the 2009 Sandra Bullock comedy, All About Steve.

The New York Times tapped Ms. Gorski to construct a celebrity puzzle with Martha Stewart as guest co-constructor. Her custom work is commissioned by advertising agencies and private clients.

A graduate of Barnard College, Ms. Gorski lives in New York City. When she’s not gigging on the viola, she plays the blues guitar and loves to dance the flamenco.

Gail GRABOWSKI

Gail Grabowski started constructing puzzles in 2002. Specializing in early-week grids, she has more than 80 puzzles published by the LA Times. Her puzzles have also appeared in the NY Times, USA Today and GAMES magazine. She is also a member of the CrosSynergy syndicate.

She has also been contributing to Random House Casual Crossword series since 2004 and the Crossword Club since 2006, and she is a regular contributor to Stan Newman's Newsday puzzle.
